Scott joined Wasabi for a month to help prepare the boat and act as mate on our passage from New Zealand to Fiji.  He was expected to stand watch, navigate, decipher weather grib files and sail Wasabi.  He was exemplary in all his duties.  He is highly recommended to be in control of passage making yachts.  He will be missed aboard Wasabi.

Scott stepped into watch keeping and deck duties on board our 40mtr private charter vessel Island Passage with ease and confidence. Scott crewed on our yacht for a delivery from Bundaberg, Australia to Opua, NZ a total of 1442miles with a distance of over 700nm undertaken using traditional navigation techniques.  He undertook all duties on board including solo watches, preparing the boat and navigation. I recently sailed 1100 NM with Scott north across the Pacific from New Zealand to Tonga, with 3 days of hand steering thrown in.  No moans, no groans, and always on watch on time.  He sailed the yacht to its best and always listened to her feedback.  No worries from a sailing perspective. 

Socially and conversationally comfortable with everyone from Ministers of the Crown & millionaires to the local people.  Good conversation on board from all their life experiences, their time in business and the hospitality sectors was appreciated.  They even laughed at my jokes and yarns as well.

I was glad to have Scott as part of the delivery crew for the first offshore passage on my boat.  He got straight in with helping prepare the boat for sea along with other maintenance jobs required.  While on passage he was very competent with sailing the boat - often solo helmsman, navigation work, radio schedules etc. He's a great communicator, seems to get on well with everybody and was a pleasure to have on board.
